The client need
The property owner lives interstate and wanted to create a premium outdoor entertaining area at her Frankston investment property.
A previous timber patio had been removed because it did not have the required building permit, leaving the backyard as bare ground with temporary fencing around the pool. The goal was to create a properly approved outdoor space that complemented the home, improved the property’s appeal and provided a quality outdoor area for future occupants.

Our Solution
Livin Renovations designed a new raised Stratco Cooldek patio and Ekodeck composite deck to transform the previously unused backyard into a substantial outdoor entertaining space.
With the deck sitting approximately 500mm above natural ground level, the patio was raised using riser brackets to create the more open, grand feel the client wanted while helping natural light reach the adjoining areas of the home.
The completed design incorporated three translucent Rooflites, 10 integrated LED downlights and a glass balustrade around the pool area, bringing the different elements together as one complete outdoor living space.

Design & Features
With the new deck sitting approximately 500mm above natural ground level, the patio roof was raised using riser brackets to create additional height and a more open, spacious feel.
150 Outback beams were used to achieve the required spans while reducing the number of columns within the entertaining area. The design also incorporated two different roof pitches, which were carefully integrated to create a seamless finished structure.
Three translucent Rooflites were incorporated to bring more natural light into the adjoining areas of the home, while 10 integrated LED downlights provide lighting across the outdoor area for evening use.
