The client need
The homeowner was creating a new outdoor spa area and wanted an insulated patio that would provide protection from the weather while making the space comfortable and practical throughout the year.
As an owner-builder, he also needed assistance turning the initial idea into a suitable patio design and preparing the technical information required for the building permit process.
Our Solution
Livin Renovations worked with the homeowner from the early design stage, completing the site measure and helping develop the Stratco patio design, CAD drawings and engineering information required for his building permit application.
A 50mm Stratco Cooldek insulated roof was selected for the spa area, supported by 150 Outback beams and 90mm SHS columns. Four integrated LED downlights were incorporated into the design, along with GPO provision to allow powered outdoor blinds to be added in the future.
Once the design and permit documentation were in place, Livin Renovations constructed the new patio to create a protected and comfortable outdoor space around the spa.

The patio was designed specifically around the new spa area using 50mm Stratco Cooldek insulated roofing supported by 150 Outback beams and 90mm SHS columns. Four integrated LED downlights provide evening lighting, while GPO provision was incorporated to allow powered outdoor blinds to be added in the future.

Livin Renovations worked closely with the owner-builder from the initial site measure and design stage through to construction of the completed patio.
We helped develop the Stratco patio design and coordinated the CAD drawings and engineering information needed to support the owner's building permit application. Once the required documentation and building permit were in place, we completed construction of the new Cooldek patio over the spa area.
Project Outcome
The completed Cooldek patio created a protected outdoor area around the new spa, allowing the space to be enjoyed in a wider range of weather conditions.
The 50mm insulated roofing provides a clean finished ceiling while helping reduce heat transfer through the roof. Integrated LED lighting makes the area more usable in the evening, while provision for future powered blinds gives the homeowner the flexibility to further enclose and enhance the space later.
